The Julian Alps in Slovenian are part of the mighty Alpine chain that crosses Europe. Bordering on Italy and Austria, the Julian Alps are full of limestone plateaus, break-taking gorges and amazing forests. Steep, jagged mountains surround Slovenia's highest peak of Mount Triglav. This is an amazing country and a fantastic venue for Gold D of E.
SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1 - Flight, travel by public transport / minibus with leaders to Kranjska Gora

Day 2 - Prepare with acclimatisation day before starting trek

Days 3 to 5 - Leave the Alpine valleys behind to spend three days trekking in the beautiful Triglav National Park, staying overnight in remote mountain refuges

Day 6 – Day 4 of the trek - Descend from the Park to Lake Bohinj

Day 7 - Rest / activity day

Day 8 - Fly home
